I have read quite a few books on organization, decluttering, and housekeeping. This is the most helpful one that I have read. There are some concepts that have been incredibly enlightening to me as someone who is neurodiverse and struggles with messiness. The suggestion to spend a few minutes neatening each room each day before cleaning is wonderful. I love the illustration of the order/disorder loop and what we can do to close or tighten the loops to maintain a state of order. And what I I found most helpful was the idea of having a "tick-tock" life -- that is, to maintain self-care such as meals and sleeping with regularity before worrying about cleaning and other tasks. I have tried Flylady, Clean Mama, etc. but I am finding the "working person's housecleaning plan" found on her blog to be the most effective plan I have tried. It's simple and brilliant and works for people with chronic illness or other challenges. I also got her book "House of Order Handbook" and for the first time in a long time, I feel real hope that I can be an organized person. If you ever read this review, Marie, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
